The Legacy Cardiothoracic group is comprised of four surgeons, and six Advanced Practice Practitioners (APPs) in the heart of the magnificent Pacific Northwest. We serve Emanuel and Good Samaritan Hospitals in Portland, Oregon.

The APP is responsible for providing medical and surgical patient care under the supervision of a physician to provide cardiac and thoracic care in the operating room, cardiovascular ICU, post cardiac care unit and clinic. Responsibilities include but are not limited to first assisting in cardiac and thoracic surgery, vein and radial artery harvesting, first assisting with CABG, valve, aortic and thoracic surgery. Additionally, must be able to perform general peri-surgical procedures in the hospital and clinic. The APP will admit cardiothoracic patients, attend rounds in the ICU and stepdown unit with progress notes and corresponding orders, and complete discharge summaries with medication reconciliation and appropriate follow-up. The candidate should have good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and embrace the concept of team practice.

Rotating call coverage is required and will be shared equally among the APPs. Evenings and weekend call is off-site unless direct medical or surgical patient care is required. ACLS and BLS certifications are required. Minimum two years of cardiothoracic or related surgical experience is required. Relocation available.
