Overview

Core Faculty roles for a 0.1 FTE position.  We believe this is a need due to:

  • Evolving complex care needs for a large population of aging elderly adults in SW Washington
  • Fractured Palliative Medicine education both inpatient and outpatient - a discipline that is only becoming more and more important nationwide (but especially in this population)
  • A recognized notable deficit in resident GOC discussions/management both inpatient and outpatient despite this growing need
  • More support for non-traditional (i.e. other than pulm/cards/GI/ID/rheum etc) fellowship opportunities for interested residents
  • More support for intensive mentoring and advising for residents who need additional supervision as identified by the CCC
  • Lower than desired scores for Interdisciplinary collaboration on our annual survey
