Legacy Health is currently seeking an experienced Medical Director for our CARES NW department.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership and direction for CARES Northwest while conducting an active medical practice as a child abuse examiner.

 

Provides medical evaluations, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to alleged victims of child abuse.  Provides consultation to Emergency Departments and inpatient coverage at Randall Children’s Hospital.  As a specialist in the field, acts as a trainer/consultant at CARES Northwest.

Qualifications

As a condition of hire and as requested throughout employment, CARES Northwest requires child abuse background checks which are conducted through the Department of Human Services (DHS) Background Check Unit (BCU).  This requires a signed release and authorization, and the background check includes a search of DHS systems for any history of abuse or neglect of a child.  If a record exists, the BCU will report the finding back to CARES Northwest and findings will be addressed in accordance with program policies.

Licensure

Certification/Licensure: 

Medical License for Oregon.

Board Certified in Child Abuse Pediatrics, PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization Course through the American Heart Association).

BLS from the American Heart Association.
