Leads and/or participates in first level of performance counseling of physician/APPs at site. Provides clinical direction, education and support to Internal Medicine/Family Practice staff. Completes annual performance reviews for physicians/APPs employed at clinic site. Participates in recruitment and hiring as appropriate.
Experience:
Minimum of two years’ experience in Internal Medicine or Family Practice preferred.
Active member in good standing of Hospital Medical Staff.
Education:
Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical school or equivalent.

This OB/GYN Hospitalist position will be primarily located at the joint site Legacy Emanuel Medical Center (LEMC) and Randall Children’s Hospital (RCH) in Portland, Oregon. Additional opportunities for coverage at other sites within the Legacy system (either coverage or additional FTE) may be available if interested. For emergency coverage, the group of Hospitalists are credentialed at multiple sites.
The well-established OB/GYN Hospitalist program at RCH/LEMC supports the inpatient needs of the Legacy Medical Group (LMG) Maternal Fetal Medicine service. The OB Hospitalists and the MFM providers work closely together on a daily basis, and the MFM practice has 24/7 (not in-house) coverage available. The OB Hospitalist also provides backup to the LMG Midwifery Practice (all CNMs), coverage for unassigned labor/triage patients, support of our private practice OB/GYN colleagues as needed (i.e. C-section assisting), and coverage for Emergency Department and inpatient gynecologic consults and emergencies (miscarriage, ovarian torsion, ectopic pregnancy, etc) with backup available. RCH has a Level IV NICU and serves a vital role in the surrounding communities for high-risk pregnancies. Dedicated in-house Anesthesia is present 24/7. Local academic OB/GYN and Family Medicine residents provide coverage 24/7 at LEMC with medical student rotations most of the year. No outpatient clinic responsibilities.
Shifts are either 12 or 24 hours in-house, in a well-appointed call room on the beautiful Labor & Delivery unit in Randall Children’s Hospital. Some preference can be taken with respect to 12 vs 24 hour shifts, but flexibility is required. Weekend shifts are split evenly among the group of FTE’d employees, as are holidays which are on a rotating schedule. You would be joining Portland’s oldest OB/GYN Hospitalist program with very low attrition over its 15+ year history.
Posted FTE may be flexible (0.6-1.0) depending on your desires!
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent with residency completed in OB/GYN
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB-GYN.

Legacy Maternal Fetal medicine is seeking a BE/BC MFM to join our well-established practice in the heart of Portland, Oregon. Our team currently includes 8 MFM physicians and 1 CNM-ANP, as well as 3 certified genetic counselors, 20 sonographers and 2 dedicated MFM social workers. We have a collegial group practice model and strive to streamline our patient care through evidence-based practice guidelines. We have 4.5 day work week, providing inpatient and outpatient consultations and sharing weekend rounding responsibilities. We do not take in-house call, and labor management and deliveries are attended by an excellent team of OB Hospitalists.
Our office spaces are equipped with antenatal testing and AIUM-accredited diagnostic ultrasound units with the most up-to-date technology. We perform CVS and amniocentesis, with some providers also performing PUBS/IUT and D&E. We have a Fetal Therapy Program dedicated to streamlining the multidisciplinary care of our most complicated fetal cases, in conjunction with a full spectrum of pediatric subspecialists (cardiology, neurosurgery, general surgery, plastics and craniofacial, and urology).
We serve a diverse patient population in our various office settings, and also perform outreach to communities across eastern Oregon and southern Washington through a robust telemedicine and remote ultrasound program.
Our patients are cared for in the newly renovated state-of-the-art Family Birth Center at Randall Children’s Hospital. We work closely with the Randall Children’s Hospital NICU, a 45 bed Level IV NICU offering the highest level of care in the state for critically ill and preterm infants. The Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) position is a licensed behavioral health provider who works in an independent clinical role, providing behavioral health interventions to patients within the Weight and Diabetes Institute in Legacy Health.
The BHC is a fully integrated member of the clinical provider team whose role is to help address a broad spectrum of behavioral health treatment to all patients served by a specified primary care clinic . Their goal is to provide early identification and diagnosis in addition to solution focused interventions that promote wellness and long-term prevention for a large segment of a clinic’s established patient panel over time. The BHC acts as an active consultant to medical providers, nurses, clinical pharmacists, care management, and others on the care team. Their role is to support the team in providing highly efficacious and compassionate care to all patients, with an emphasis on improving care for the most complex and marginalized individuals.
The BHC is a fully integrated member of the clinical provider team that assesses, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats emotional, cognitive, and behavioral problems or disorders affecting Legacy Weight and Diabetes Institute patients. A primary role of the BHC is the psychological assessment pertaining to readiness for weight loss surgery. The BHC is part of the multi-disciplinary team that comprises the Legacy Weight and Diabetes Institute and follows established department, program and professional standards, providing guidance to other members regarding management of emotional, behavioral, cognitive and family system problems. Performs psychological testing as needed to assess readiness for weight loss surgery and to assist patients with weight loss interventions. Facilitates group programs designed to assist individuals with lifestyle interventions and emotional issues related to weight loss. Assists with support group facilitation. Participates in a variety of research activities in collaboration with Legacy Research and studies conducted by the Bariatric Surgeons.
Education:
Doctor of Psychology (PhD or PsyD), Master of Social Work from a nationally accredited institution, fulfilling the requirements for licensure in the state of Oregon and/or Washington
Experience:
- Two years of outpatient experience with an emphasis on eating disorders and obesity.
- Must have a working knowledge of the nature and mechanics of bariatric surgical procedures and their postoperative course, the physiological effects of morbid obesity and dieting, as well as a basic knowledge of the psychology of eating and morbid obesity.
- Requires a thorough understanding of the psychosocial, financial, and physical stresses imposed on the patient with morbid obesity and current views on how certain psychosocial factors may affect surgical outcome.
Certification/Licensure:
Current licensure as a psychologist or clinical social worker by the applicable State Board.

This position is for Inpatient Rehab services at the Legacy Rehabilitation Institute of Oregon, a 36 bed CARF accredited, adult post-acute medical rehabilitation unit. The neuropsychologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats emotional, neurocognitive, and behavioral problems or disorders affecting adult and/or geriatric patients. Services are provided for patients whose cognitive or psychological disturbance is secondary to or adversely affecting management of a primary medical problem. Participates as a member of the treatment team, following established department, program and professional standards, to provide guidance to other members regarding management of emotional, behavioral, cognitive and family system problems. Has specialized knowledge regardingevaluation and treatment of emotional coping, mental and psychological status and behavior that promotes positive adaptation to disability as well as neuropsychological adjustment to new cognitive and physical impairments. Performs psychodiagnostic and/or neuropsychological assessment and testing inthe inpatient setting as needed to diagnose and plan treatment, and to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment. Provides consultative support to staff and families.
Education:
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology with specialized post-doctoral training in neuropsychology preferred.
Experience:
At least one year of post-doctoral experience in inpatient hospital-based neuropsychological or rehab psychology servcies preferred. Preference given to persons who have completed a formal hospital-based two-year doctoral training program.
Skills:
Demonstrated competencies in assessment and treatment of emotional, neurocognitive and behavioral disorders in adult and/or geriatric patients (depending upon population served by specific position). Demonstrated competency in assessment and treatment of cognitive and psychological problems secondary to, associated with, and/or exacerbating medical conditions. Demonstrated competency in consultation to staff of all levels in a medical setting.
Current licensure as a psychologist by the applicable State Board of Psychologist Examiners. Must be eligible for membership in the hospital medical staff.
