The Rehabilitation Psychologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats emotional, neurocognitive, and behavioral problems or disorders affecting adult and/or geriatric patients. Services are provided for patients whose cognitive or psychological disturbance is the primary problem and/or for patients whose cognitive or psychological disturbance is secondary to or adversely affecting management of, a primary medical problem. Participates as a member of the treatment team, following established department, program and professional standards, to provide guidance to other members regarding management of emotional, behavioral, cognitive and family system problems. Performs psychodiagnostic and/or neuropsychological assessment and testing in both inpatient and outpatient settings as needed to diagnose and plan treatment, and to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment. Attends assigned clinics to provide consultative support to staff and families.
Education:
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology with specialized post-doctoral training.
Experience:
At least one year of post-doctoral experience in inpatient hospital-based neuropsychological services. Preference given to persons who have completed a formal hospital-based two-year doctoral training program.
Skills:
Demonstrated competencies in assessment and treatment of emotional, neurocognitive and behavioral disorders in children, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients (depending upon population served by specific position). Demonstrated competency in assessment and treatment of cognitive and psychological problems secondary to, associated with, and/or exacerbating medical conditions. Legacy Health has a growth opportunity to join a well-established team of energetic NNP’s. The NNP role has opportunities at both Level III and IV NICU units within Legacy. Both units offer delivery attendance, medical management of high-risk neonates and infants, including rounding on NNP service patients. Telemedicine Resuscitation coverage of other Legacy level I nursery sites and the opportunity to work on nonclinical projects vital to the high standard of care for the NICU patients and families is also a vital part of the NNP role.
The Level IV 45 bed unit is within Randall Children’s Hospital, a free-standing 9 story children’s hospital, and offers comprehensive care with all subspecialties, including cardiac and neurology surgery specialties, genetics and ECMO, within the framework of family integrated care. Randall Children’s Hospital has a dedicated children’s transport team. No transport requirement for the NNP role.
The Level III 22 bed unit at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical center is eagerly awaiting the addition of NNP’s to the care team. The schedule is emerging and includes 12, 16 and 24-hour shift options.
The role requires NNP to be based in the Portland/Vancouver area and requires dual licensure in Oregon and Washington. Rotation frequency through both units is negotiable and individualized to maintain 24-hour coverage at both sites, including nights, holidays, and weekends. Holiday tracks and a well-established self-scheduling model bring increased satisfaction and balance to the team.
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner role is part of the Legacy Medical Group of medical providers. Candidates will enjoy a comprehensive benefit package that includes required license reimbursement and generous continuing education support annually.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Patient Care Management: The NNP’s work collaboratively with Neonatologists and pediatric subspecialists in the NICU as well as pediatricians and obstetricians in the Labor and Delivery and Family Birthing centers to guide the care of neonates and infants across the care continuum. The NNP’s are able to practice in an autonomous role utilizing technical procedural skills as well as essential decision making in the care of these patients.
Nursing Care Support: The NNP team provide ongoing support to the nursing staff whether on the unit or through formal education opportunities. The NNP’s are key leaders in patient care projects that support both nursing care and medical management.
Resuscitation: The NNP’s attend deliveries in person at each of the medical centers and via a telehealth support platform at the other level I nursery sites to provide a consistent high level of care for newborns throughout the Legacy system.
Discharge Planning: The entire NICU team works to provide an integrated family care experience to enable families to care for their high-risk infants within the NICU setting and beyond. The NICU values input from all members of the team including dedicated neonatal RT’s, consultants from dietary, OT/PT, lactation, as well as the core nursing, medical and leadership staff.
EDUCATION:
As required by licensure.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years’ experience Level IV NICU preferred
LICENSURE:
- Current applicable state RN license required.
- Current applicable state license as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Privileges (NNP-PP) required.

This pediatrics position works in collaboration with physicians to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and episodic disorders. Assigned principal responsibility for primary health care of patients. Seeks the expert opinion or advice of a physician whenever the incumbent decides a case falls outside the scope authorized by policies and protocol.
The Nurse Practitioner typically remains responsible for the patient throughout the course of treatment, provides the physical examination, the diagnosis, and the health care plan, determines when the patient has recovered, and releases the patient. The Nurse Practitioner may refer the patient to a physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment, but retains responsibility for clinical management as well as any subsequent modification.

Position:
Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, part of the Legacy Health system, is actively recruiting for a general surgeon to join our team. The well-established practice currently includes 3 general surgeons. The candidate will have comfort in all aspects of all general surgery. In addition, experience or fellowship training in hernia and complex abdominal wall reconstruction is preferred. The candidate must also have experience with open, laparoscopic, and robotic techniques. The candidate will be expected take acute care surgery call, supporting our emergency department and system wide transfer center. No trauma coverage is required.
Selected candidate must be team-oriented and have the ability to interact well with colleagues inside and out of the group. Our surgeons interact regularly with multiple surgical and non-surgical subspecialties as well as the hospitalist service and outpatient Primary Care. Good Samaritan Hospital shares and academic affiliation with Oregon Health and Science University, serving as a community site for the General Surgery Residency Program. Candidate will be expected to participate in clinical education. No research is required.

Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations, for patients in primary care clinics who have psychiatric or behavioral health comorbidities.
The psychiatrist will conduct an examination and order relevant laboratory studies to help determine a diagnosis to make treatment recommendations to the patient and primary care provider. The treatment recommendations might include biological as well as psychotherapeutic modalities and will also include a recommendation for an appropriate setting for the delivery of this care.
When appropriate, the psychiatrist will initiate treatment and continue to monitor the patient’s progress until stabilization. Once stabilized the patient may continue to follow-up with the psychiatrist or may be referred to the primary care provider. The psychiatrist will work in collaboration with multidisciplinary primary care teams to ensure high quality patient care. Provide support and educational training for physicians and non-physician staff in providing care for complex psychiatric patients and their families.
The psychiatrist remains responsible for the patient throughout the course of the treatment and will determine when the patient will be released from care
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of four-year accredited U.S. Medical School or equivalent. Completion of a four-year residency in Psychiatry.
Licensure
Board eligible/certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. License to practice Medicine in the State of Oregon. Licensed, or willing to become licensed, in Washington. Active member, in good standing, of all Legacy Hospital’s medical staffs. If Board Eligible, must become Board Certified within five years of hire and must maintain current certification.
