        The Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) works in a consultative and collaborative role as an integral member of the primary care team. They provide behavioral health interventions to primary care patients with the goal of improving overall health of patients.   The BHC helps address a broad spectrum of behavioral health needs in the primary care patient population. Their goal is to aid in early identification and provide problem focused interventions that promote wellness and relieve symptoms. Behavioral issues that are addressed may be related to physical or mental  health conditions. They provide assessment, management and triage of psychological and social problems in the clinic patient population.   This position requires advanced level skill in delivering evidence-based interventions targeted to improve overall health for patients with a variety of emotional and behavioral problems. The work includes the BHC meeting with patients individually for an assessment and then providing recommendations to the primary care team to enhance the patient's care plan.  When indicated, the BHC may also work with patients for several subsequent sessions to provide on-going skills training and coaching to improve health and functioning. The BHC also supports helping patients, who require services not provided in the LMG clinic, to make a smooth transition to care with community partners.   QUALIFICATIONS:   Education:   Must be a graduate of a doctor of psychology program accredited through the American Psychological Association (APA) or have a Master of Social Work degree from an accredited school of social work.   Licensure: Must hold a current valid Oregon and/or Washington License as a Psychologist (PsyD or PhD) or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)   Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical experience or healthcare related field.   Skills: - Ability to screen for common mental health problems. Able to conduct Cognitive-Behavioral or solution focused interventions. - Recognizes and advocates for patients regarding behavioral health strategies/interventions. - Promotes health behavior change through evaluation, brief intervention and education. - Works with multidisciplinary team to help support the patient’s health.     The Legacy Cardiothoracic group is comprised of four surgeons, and six Advanced Practice Practitioners (APPs) in the heart of the magnificent Pacific Northwest. We serve Emanuel and Good Samaritan Hospitals in Portland, Oregon.   The APP is responsible for providing medical and surgical patient care under the supervision of a physician to provide cardiac and thoracic care in the operating room, cardiovascular ICU, post cardiac care unit and clinic. Responsibilities include but are not limited to first assisting in cardiac and thoracic surgery, vein and radial artery harvesting, first assisting with CABG, valve, aortic and thoracic surgery. Additionally, must be able to perform general peri-surgical procedures in the hospital and clinic. The APP will admit cardiothoracic patients, attend rounds in the ICU and stepdown unit with progress notes and corresponding orders, and complete discharge summaries with medication reconciliation and appropriate follow-up. The candidate should have good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and embrace the concept of team practice.   Rotating call coverage is required and will be shared equally among the APPs. Evenings and weekend call is off-site unless direct medical or surgical patient care is required. ACLS and BLS certifications are required. Minimum two years of cardiothoracic or related surgical experience is required. If this is how you view your work as an OB/GYN, we invite you to consider joining our community.   The Supplemental OB/GYN Hospitalist positions are designed to support the established groups of OB Hospitalists located at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, OR and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center in Vancouver, WA as well as additional opportunities for coverage throughout the Legacy system in Portland and the surrounding areas (Legacy Silverton Medical Center and Legacy Mt.Hood Medical Center).    At the primary site(s), the OB Hospitalists support the inpatient needs of the Legacy Medical Group (LMG) Maternal Fetal Medicine service and function as perinatal extenders. The OB Hospitalists and the MFM providers work closely together on a daily basis, and the MFM practice has 24/7 (not in-house) coverage available. The OB Hospitalist also provides backup to the LMG Midwifery Practice (all CNMs), coverage for unassigned labor/triage patients, support of our private practice OB/GYN colleagues as needed (i.e. C-section assisting), and provide variable coverage for Emergency Department gynecologic consults and emergencies (miscarriage, ovarian torsion, ectopic pregnancy, etc). Both locations have Level IV NICUs and serve a vital role in the surrounding communities for high-risk pregnancies. Dedicated in-house Anesthesia is present 24/7 at both sites. Local academic OB/GYN and Family Medicine residents provide coverage 24/7 at LEMC with medical student rotations at both sites. No clinic responsibilities.   Requirements and Qualifications: - Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent with residency completed in OB/GYN - Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB-GYN. - Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Oregon and Washington. - Current BLS from the American Heart Association required. - Bilingual a plus!   Required procedures/skills: - Full OB scope of both low and high-risk pregnancies including NSVD, operative vaginal delivery, cesarean section, management of third stage labor, hemorrhage, level 1 ultrasound, repair of episiotomy and lacerations, VBAC, etc. Gynecology procedures including D&C, minor and major laparoscopy with adnexal surgery (oophorectomy, cystectomy, salpingectomy, ectopic), tubal ligation (laparoscopic and postpartum). - In-house 12- or 24-hour shifts (designated, well-appointed call room)   Follows guidelines set forth in Legacy’s Values in Action.   Equal Opportunity Employer/Vets/Disabled.
