        Legacy Health has a growth opportunity to join a well-established team of energetic NNP’s.  The NNP role has opportunities at both Level III and IV NICU units within Legacy.  Both units offer delivery attendance, medical management of high-risk neonates and infants, including rounding on NNP service patients.  Telemedicine Resuscitation coverage of other Legacy level I nursery sites and the opportunity to work on nonclinical projects vital to the high standard of care for the NICU patients and families is also a vital part of the NNP role.    The Level IV 45 bed unit is within Randall Children’s Hospital, a free-standing 9 story children’s hospital, and offers comprehensive care with all subspecialties, including cardiac and neurology surgery specialties, genetics and ECMO, within the framework of family integrated care.  Randall Children’s Hospital has a dedicated children’s transport team.  No transport requirement for the NNP role.    The Level III 22 bed unit at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical center is eagerly awaiting the addition of NNP’s to the care team.   The schedule is emerging and includes 12, 16 and 24-hour shift options.    The role requires NNP to be based in the Portland/Vancouver area and requires dual licensure in Oregon and Washington. Rotation frequency through both units is negotiable and individualized to maintain 24-hour coverage at both sites, including nights, holidays, and weekends.  Holiday tracks and a well-established self-scheduling model bring increased satisfaction and balance to the team.   The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner role is part of the Legacy Medical Group of medical providers. Candidates will enjoy a comprehensive benefit package that includes required license reimbursement and generous continuing education support annually.   QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Patient Care Management:  The NNP’s work collaboratively with Neonatologists and pediatric subspecialists in the NICU as well as pediatricians and obstetricians in the Labor and Delivery and Family Birthing centers to guide the care of neonates and infants across the care continuum.  The NNP’s are able to practice in an autonomous role utilizing technical procedural skills as well as essential decision making in the care of these patients.    Nursing Care Support:  The NNP team provide ongoing support to the nursing staff whether on the unit or through formal education opportunities.  The NNP’s are key leaders in patient care projects that support both nursing care and medical management.   Resuscitation: The NNP’s attend deliveries in person at each of the medical centers and via a telehealth support platform at the other level I nursery sites to provide a consistent high level of care for newborns throughout the Legacy system.     Discharge Planning: The entire NICU team works to provide an integrated family care experience to enable families to care for their high-risk infants within the NICU setting and beyond.  The NICU values input from all members of the team including dedicated neonatal RT’s, consultants from dietary, OT/PT, lactation, as well as the core nursing, medical and leadership staff.            EDUCATION: As required by licensure.   EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years’ experience Level IV NICU preferred    LICENSURE: - Current applicable state RN license required. - Current applicable state license as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Privileges (NNP-PP) required.  - National Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) required. - Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor Certification preferred - Credentialed by Legacy Medical Staff for Category I and II privileges. - NRP certificate from the American Heart Association. If you are interested in joining a team that is making a difference, we would like to talk with you.   Legacy Health is currently seeking experienced outpatient pediatric child abuse physician specialist to join our dynamic Salmon Creek team.   Medical evaluations of children for suspected abuse and neglect.  - Takes appropriate histories, performs physical examinations, takes photographs of physical findings, performs medical evaluations, and obtains as indicated cultures, lab tests, and imaging studies. - Performs overall health screenings with referral and follow-up to appropriate providers.  Legally acceptable reports of evaluations. - Enters into the electronic medical record, detailed, legally acceptable reports of medical evaluations with sign-off and charge entry and accurate coding in timely manner. - Reviews and corrects reports to ensure accuracy. - Includes diagnostic finding and treatment recommendations.  Assessments for suspected abuse.  - Works in cooperation with other professionals in providing assessments for suspected abuse. - Makes all appropriate contacts with outside agency personnel either by phone, electronically, or in person to ensure understanding of relevant historic information and appropriate planning for the evaluation process. - Debriefs in a timely manner at the time of appointment with agency personnel and/or guardian to develop cooperative plan for follow-up on assessment and treatment.  Provision of quality services. - Participates in supervision, peer review, and quality assurance exercises. - Requests peer review on cases that pose diagnostic problems. Telephone consultations to professionals in the community and state on medical aspects of suspected abuse.    Promotion of community awareness of child abuse issues through educational programs.  - Promotes community partnerships and program development regarding child abuse. May train other professionals regarding medical evaluations of alleged child abuse victims and may develop associated educational materials. Expert testimony when subpoenaed to depositions or trials on cases.  - Integrates current research into court testimony and is available as a resource for other staff preparing for court. - Makes appropriate arrangements for court testimony.  Continuing education for child abuse examiners.  - Attends professional training for child abuse medical providers and reads relevant literature. - Takes initiative to research and share new information on this specialty. - Attends trainings and fully utilizes available consultations. - Seeks input from others on own work.   QUALIFICATIONS: As a condition of hire and as requested throughout employment, CAAT requires child abuse background checks which are conducted pre-hire and every three years through the DHS Child Abuse registry check.   This requires a signed release and authorization, and the background check includes a search of systems for any history of abuse or neglect of a child. If this is how you view your work as an OB/GYN, we invite you to consider joining our community.   This OB/GYN Hospitalist position will be primarily located at the joint site Legacy Emanuel Medical Center (LEMC) and Randall Children’s Hospital (RCH) in Portland, Oregon. Additional opportunities for coverage at other sites within the Legacy system (either coverage or additional FTE) may be available if interested. For emergency coverage, the group of Hospitalists are credentialed at multiple sites.   The well-established OB/GYN Hospitalist program at RCH/LEMC supports the inpatient needs of the Legacy Medical Group (LMG) Maternal Fetal Medicine service. The OB Hospitalists and the MFM providers work closely together on a daily basis, and the MFM practice has 24/7 (not in-house) coverage available. The OB Hospitalist also provides backup to the LMG Midwifery Practice (all CNMs), coverage for unassigned labor/triage patients, support of our private practice OB/GYN colleagues as needed (i.e. C-section assisting), and coverage for Emergency Department and inpatient gynecologic consults and emergencies (miscarriage, ovarian torsion, ectopic pregnancy, etc) with backup available. RCH has a Level IV NICU and serves a vital role in the surrounding communities for high-risk pregnancies. Dedicated in-house Anesthesia is present 24/7. Local academic OB/GYN and Family Medicine residents provide coverage 24/7 at LEMC with medical student rotations most of the year. No outpatient clinic responsibilities.   Shifts are either 12 or 24 hours in-house, in a well-appointed call room on the beautiful Labor & Delivery unit in Randall Children’s Hospital. Some preference can be taken with respect to 12 vs 24 hour shifts, but flexibility is required. Weekend shifts are split evenly among the group of FTE’d employees, as are holidays which are on a rotating schedule. You would be joining Portland’s oldest OB/GYN Hospitalist program with very low attrition over its 15+ year history.   Requirements and Qualifications: - Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent with residency completed in OB/GYN - Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB-GYN. - Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Oregon and Washington. - Current BLS from the American Heart Association required. - Bilingual a plus!       Legacy Health has a growth opportunity to join a well-established team of energetic NNP’s.  The NNP role has opportunities at both Level III and IV NICU units within Legacy.  Both units offer delivery attendance, medical management of high-risk neonates and infants, including rounding on NNP service patients.  Telemedicine Resuscitation coverage of other Legacy level I nursery sites and the opportunity to work on nonclinical projects vital to the high standard of care for the NICU patients and families is also a vital part of the NNP role.    The Level IV 45 bed unit is within Randall Children’s Hospital, a free-standing 9 story children’s hospital, and offers comprehensive care with all subspecialties, including cardiac and neurology surgery specialties, genetics and ECMO, within the framework of family integrated care.  Randall Children’s Hospital has a dedicated children’s transport team.  No transport requirement for the NNP role.    The Level III 22 bed unit at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical center is eagerly awaiting the addition of NNP’s to the care team.   The schedule is emerging and includes 12, 16 and 24-hour shift options.    The role requires NNP to be based in the Portland/Vancouver area and requires dual licensure in Oregon and Washington.
